Mami Doodles Challenge 40 - Altered Art/Home Decor.

The challenge over on Mami Doodles which started yesterday is Altered Art/ Home Decor & because it is the holiday season this challenge will run for 4 weeks so gives plenty of time to get some creating done. The prize for this challenge is the latest 3 Mami Doodles images released - Peter and the Pudding, Bea the Butterfly & Baby's First Christmas plus you will get to choose another of Elisa's gorgeous digi's. To take part all you have to do is link your Altered Art/ Home Decor project on the Mami Doodles blog. You don't have to use a Mami Doodles image but if you do (including freebies) you will be entered twice. You have until midday on the 12th of January 2012 to join in. Here is my DT project.
I made a door plaque for my daughter to put in her Christmas stocking. I used one of the 8 images you get when you buy Ligia & I gave Ligia a new hair do so that she looks like my daughter. The layers for the plaque were cut using my eCraft, Ligia was coloured using ProMarkers, the gem swirls were added using my I-Rock tool, flowers are from my stash & I used 3 different embossing folders. Hope to see some gorgeous creations for the challenge. Pam x

Commissioned Shoe card.

I love this digital stamp from Sketching Stamper. It was my very first digital stamp & I find I come back to it a lot. The leaf flourishes were cut using my eCraft & the purple card was glittered using Crafters Companion glitter spray, I love this stuff, it comes in 4 colours - Gold, Silver, Iridescent & Multi.
The sentiment is computer generated but I think it says it all!

Commissioned Photo cards.

Here are 2 cards that were commissioned by my BIL's mother. She always gets photo cards done & with grand children so cute I can see why!
I cut the frame for this using my eCraft & then glittered it using stickles.
I thought this photo was just so cute.
I added glossy accents as water splashes. The frame was again cut using my eCraft.

My new ProMarker & FlexMarker storage.

I have this great friend Yaz who has a very talented carpenter OH who was kind enough to make me new storage that would house my complete collection of ProMarkers & when I have them all the complete collection of FlexMarkers. This is the fabby storage I now have for all my markers.
The box is very sturdy & it can be left up right, on it's side or on its back & the markers will stay in place due to the dividers you can see in the photo above. Yaz's OH is in the process of finishing a craft desk for her & I can't wait to see it. He also makes fab children's furniture & I think the website will be live soon, they have a Facebook page where you can see some of the brilliant creations!!

Mans Birthday card.

I was asked to make a birthday card for a man but the customer wanted the date of birth & the date of the birthday on it but I didn't really like the idea as it reminded me of a tombstone!!

So I looked up news paper archives & was lucky enough to find a news paper for the date of the birthday!

I cut the 50 using my eCraft.

Ouch LO

A few years ago my son fell while out in his nanna's & his uncle Gary notified everyone when he start screaming that Ryan had broken his arm. I ran to check what was up but am ashamed to say I ran screaming as soon as I seen his arm which looked very much like a s shape. Only my MIL's boyfriend was there my poor boy would have been left standing there. He was so brave & calmed down way faster than I did.
I thought this photo deserved to be made into a LO

I am thrilled to be a part of such a great team & to be working with Elisa's fabulous images.

Card Swap!

Over on Celtic Crafters where I am a group member it was my month to set a challenge for a card swap & I chose the theme!
I didn't want to make it too easy of the ladies so taking inspiration from Jackie Mooney's gorgeous card I decided on having a shaped card.
Thinking that this might be too easy on the ladies they also had to have a handmade flower on the card too & it couldn't be punched or die cut!
This is where I got the idea for my flowers.
I cut the layers for my card & the matting layers using my eCraft & MTC.

Mami Doodles card.

I got this image free as part of a pack of 3 images when I bought some Mami Doodles images & just love this little elephant, I think he is just so cute & could be used for a child's birthday card too. The cute elephant was coloured using ProMarkers.

The ProMarker combo used is

Crafting Ireland Competition Sketch.

So the GBCE is in 8 more sleeps & I am as excited as a kid waiting for the school tour!!
Crafting Ireland will be there & will be running some competitions. Here is the details for the 1st competition!
Photobucket
You have to follow this sketch!
You can rotate the sketch & change it from a rectangle to a square. As long as Nicole & Timi can see the sketch in your project it's all good!
Here are 3 cards I have done & you can get some more inspiration on the Crafting Ireland blog.

Going away card & a Thank you card!

The girl who asked me to make this card was so happy with it that she asked me to make another A4 card for a friend of hers who was going to Australia to go travelling for a year!
The girl was starting in Cairns & making her way down to Sydney.
This is what I came up with.
Photobucket
I printed the map off & distressed it.
Photobucket
I sent the card off to the customer & then a few days after I got the cheque in the post but there was something else in the envelope!!

& on the inside

I was so thrilled with this little card telling me how happy she was with my work & it is fantastic to have the little card to keep!!

Yay!! I was published again!!!

So in issue 3 of Crafting Ireland (Irelands 1st on line crafting magazine) there were submission calls for issue 4 & the themes were Autumn & Halloween & then there was a picture too that was to be used as inspiration for a project that would be entered into a competition!
Guess what!!!!
I was one of 2 people who won the competition & I had a card & a LO published in issue 4!
Photobucket
I am delighted to be published again & also very excited that I won the competition! For my prize I will get either 7 Gypsies Conservatory Papers or My Minds Eye Lost & Found Papers which were very generously donated by The Crafty Alley
this is the photo that we had to take inspiration from
Photobucket
This is the card I made!
Photobucket
I used the colours from the inspiration photo & also texure!
The image is one from Claire & was coloured using ProMarkers but I don't remember which colours I used!!
This is the card I submitted for the Autumn theme!
Photobucket
This card was made using leftovers from the Crafty Queens mini album! All I added was the Gorjuss girl image who was coloured with ProMarkers (& again I can't remember the colours) & also the embossed leaves background!!
This was the LO I submitted for the Halloween theme.
Photobucket
I have been dying to do a LO with these photo's of the kids with the tarantulas so the Halloween theme was just perfect!!
The spider web & the title were cut using my eCraft! The organza ribbon was heated with my heat gun to make it all wrinkly!
