A lot of Cards.

Ok so it has been a good long while since I have blogged.
As usual it has just been a case of not getting a chance with everything else (i.e. real life) but I did manage to get a bit of crafting done.
Most of the following cards are communion cards & I am delighted that the communion season is over for another year!
Photobucket
The image on this card is from Karens Doodles & they are just really lovely, I have the confirmation ones too & she has a fab wedding one too!!
Photobucket
Just a close up of my colouring (think I'm finally getting to know my ProMarkers at last lol) The paper is from the Papermania Birdsong pack!

This one was the first of 3 for the same little girl!!!
Photobucket
The border is punched using an Xcut punch, I really do love these new punches as they seem a lot sturdier than some of the more popular ones out there! Hopefully they will bring out a lot more designs.
The stamp is a Whiff Of Joy one & was coloured using Promarkers although there wasnt too much colouring.
Photobucket
Gems were added using my new I-Rock tool & stencil.

This was the 2nd of the 3 for this girl.
Photobucket
Border punch is again done using an Xcut punch, butterfly & teeny flowers were cut using my eCraft, bow made using bow maker, Karens Doodles image used & coloured with ProMarkers & as with almost all of my cards the sentiment was done with my CraftRobo.
Photobucket
I think this is one of my fave images!!

This was the final card of the 3 & it was a little hard to come up with something!
I wasn't happy with it, felt it was missing something but the customer was delighted with it.
Photobucket
Again its a Karens Doodles image & coloured with ProMarkers, can't remember the brand of paper but I know I have it in a good few colours & I have used them a lot when I get stuck!!
The "stitching" is done using my Sew Easy tool & the Zig Zag attachment head!
Photobucket
Used a Fiskars corner punch on the corners.

Photobucket
This was the first of 2 for the same girl.
It is just as well I found those Karens Doodles images lol!!
Again the usual tools were used ProMarkers, Bow Maker & CraftRobo & I used a paper doily. I found these in my local €2 shop for a pack of 60 with 3 different sizes.
Photobucket
I love yellow & brown together.

Photobucket
This is the 2nd of the 2 & the photo is terrible I know but I only remembered to take the photo when the card was being collected in the evening time so I was chasing the light lol!!
For this one I made the background paper using the stamp & chalk technique I learned at Jackie Mooney's beginners & techniques workshop. I loved this technique & have used it a few times since. It has me on the hunt for nice background stamps!!!
Photobucket
I used some tulle with silver spots that i have had since I first start card making & pleated it along the bottom.
Photobucket
Again my I-Rock tool & stencil was used to add bling.

Photobucket
This candle was for the girl above too.

Photobucket
Yet again I was chasing the light with this & it a Karens Doodles image again.
Photobucket
I added some glossy accents to his shoes to give him nice new shiny communion shoes.

Photobucket
Another communion candle, I really do need to get a new cross Stamp though as I tend to use this one a lot!

Photobucket
I love this image. The lovely Isobel who attends Jackies workshops very kindly let me borrow her stamp & I am delighted that I had the brainwave to stamp it onto some tissue paper!!

Photobucket
Yet another communion card!!!

Photobucket
& another !!! This time using a Whiff Of Joy stamp!

Photobucket
This time I went with a cross cut using my eCraft!

Photobucket
Photobucket
These are Jackie Mooney workshop cards that I personalized when I was asked to make cards the same day for my friends birthday by my mam & brother!

Photobucket
This is the card I made for my friends birthday, at least I was prepared lol!!
Photobucket
Photobucket
The shoe is a digi by Sketching Stamper & was the very first digi stamp I bought!
I coloured the shoe with ProMarkers & went over with an embossing marker then embossed using clear embossing powder!

Photobucket
This is the card I made for my friend from my sister who took the time to ask me to order this in time for the birthday lol!!
Photobucket
Photobucket
I can't remember where I got this digi from but I knew when I seen it that I would use it someday, kind of like most of the digi's I buy!!

Photobucket
This is a christening card using that cross stamp again & itty bitty embossed panels
Photobucket
& of course my Bow Maker

Photobucket
Card for my hubbys much younger cousin. I bought the converse embellishment with her in mind. I still have to buy her a pair of the real things though!!

Photobucket
Wedding card using the stamp & chalk technique learnt at Jackies workshop
Photobucket
A close up of the chalks.
Photobucket
& a matching box too!!
Think that's about it for now!!

An unexpected treat for me!!!

So I wasn't expecting to get to go to another of Jackie Mooney's brilliant workshops until the 1st of May which to me is ages away :(
I knew Jackie was having a beginners workshop, which will be on next Sunday (the 10th of April) & have said a couple of times that I wished I was only a beginner just so I could go.
Yesterday I got an email from Jackie & because of the way she has organised the workshop I can now go so I am a very, very happy person now.
I will learn some techniques from Jackie so hopefully I will be able to start using some of the crafty things I had to have over the years but didn't really get!?! Things like embossing powders & chalks.
We will be making a card at the beginners & techniques workshop with this on it
Photobucket
Just look at the detail in the picture!
It will be interesting to see if mine looks as good as Jackies!!!
Jackie also had a stunning card at her last workshop that she had created using... get this...... a coaster (or to be more precise a beer mat) & we will be learning how to do the embossing on this. The hubby will be getting orders to bring home supplies from the local lol!!
We will also try shrink plastic which is something I have never tried & I am really looking forward to trying this!!!
I know I will really enjoy this day & I can't wait for next week now!!!

Ribbon Roses!

I came across this tutorial on you tube that showed how to make the cutest ribbon roses!
So bear in mind that these were my first attempt. I have to be quite big headed & say that they do actually look quite well!!!
This one is a little messy looking!
Photobucket
Then it gets a little neater...
Photobucket
& then neater again!!!
Photobucket
I burnt my poor fingers in the making of these but
I think these look yummy & I am always willing to suffer in the name of crafting!! In this instance it was burnt finger tips all round lol but I survived !!
Photobucket
Very good for a first attempt if I do say so myself ;)

Jackie Mooney's March 2011 Workshop.

I had a wonderful day on Sunday the 27th of March at Jackie's workshop!
I knew I would have though as next month I will be attending Jackie's workshops for the past 2 years & I have never miss a workshop once since I have started going! I work my social life around Jackie's workshops because
1 - I know I would miss something really great if I couldn't go &
2 - It is my day!!
As in for 1 Sunday every month I know I am going to get to create, chat & relax & there is no way I would miss it!!
Here are the cards & Easter basket we made on Sunday
Photobucket
This one was my fave cos we used my fave colour & I just loved the distressed look of this card!
Photobucket
I love this ribbon pin & we first done this at the Newtown Mount Kennedy crafty day!
Photobucket
This was one of my daughters fave's, she loves ladybugs!
Photobucket
This was her other fave! She just loved the little bees googly eyes.
Of course with all the chatting going on I made a mistake but was able to salvage it lol!
Photobucket
Photobucket
This was a lovely quick card & it would also be ideal for an engagement or even a sympathy card (with a different image of course) but this is an idea that will I will use again!
Photobucket
I love the poem in this card but the best part of this card was the flower
Photobucket
which was handmade! I love learning new things & that is guaranteed if you are going to attend a Jackie Mooney workshop!!
Last but not least is the fab little Easter basket we made!
Photobucket
It's the little details like how the fence was embossed so it looked like wood that make you realise just how thorough Jackie really is when it comes to the creations she comes up with each & every month!
Photobucket
Visit Jackie's workshop blog cos I'm not great with a camera so don't do the projects we make any justice.

Whiff Of Joy mouse card.

Ok I just love this little mouse stamp & find myself using it a lot lately.
Photobucket
Photobucket
I used glitter paper on it, I got a few packs from Cara Crafts when the shop was at one of Jackie's workshops but recently found them in Inspiring Ideas in Blanchardstown shopping centre, I should mention I am not allowed to go into that shop unless I have a chaperone with me to curb my spending lol!
I think the glitter paper is super sparkly & is ideal for a little girls card!
Photobucket
Of course the writing was done using my craft robo & although you can't see it in the photo the pink writing is really glittery!
Photobucket
The bow was made using my bow maker, I haven't tied a normal bow since getting this lol!!
